Dr. Julie Gard Schnuelle of Auburn, Alabama, United States has died. She was 59.

Schnuelle was 5’2″ tall. She was a board certified theriogenologist while her husband Archie Schnuelle is a marriage and family therapist.

After graduating from Harding Academy in Memphis, Tennessee, USA, Julie studied biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama. Her areas of clinical emphasis include bovine embryology, canine reproduction and dairy production medicine and her research interests include advanced reproductive techniques, embryo technologies, emergency response and mastitis.

In 1996, Julie earned her bachelor’s degree in veterinary medicine from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University in Auburn. She earned her PhD in biomedical sciences from the same university.

From 2003 to 2021, Julie was a professor in Auburn University’s Department of Clinical Sciences in the Large Animal/Food Animal section. On May 17, 2015, she and Archie got married.

Harold Rashad Dabney III

Aside from Auburn, Julie lived in other parts of Alabama including Mobile. Montgomery, Alabama is around 56 miles away from Auburn and around 170 miles away from Mobile.

In June 2025, Julie turned 59. On September 6, 2025, she was murdered allegedly by Harold Rashad Dabney III, 28, of Montgomery.

Julie’s body was found at Kiesel Park in the 500 block of Chadwick Lane in Auburn. She had injuries indicating her death was caused by an assault.

A red Ford F-150 belonging to Schnuelle was stolen by Dabney. The vehicle was later recovered.

At around 8:30 a.m. on September 7, 2025, Auburn Police Department officers responded to a call reporting a suspicious person near the 2300 block of Beehive Road in Auburn. They located the person, who was identified as Dabney.

The officers made observations that led them to believe Dabney was involved in the killing of Julie. Further investigation confirmed him as the suspect responsible for the homicide.

Dabney was arrested, booked into the Lee County Jail in Opelika, Alabama and charged with two counts of capital murder. He is being held without bond.
