Sydney Taylor was born in Livingston, Livingston Parish, Louisiana, United States. In May 2019, she graduated from Doyle High School in Livingston and from August 2019 to May 2013, she attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting.

On March 30, 2024, Taylor represented Lafayette, Louisiana at Miss Louisiana USA 2024, competed against 26 other candidates at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie, Louisiana. She won the title.

Miss Louisiana USA 2025 contestants

On September 20, 2025, Taylor will crown her successor at the Bologna Performing Arts Center in Cleveland, Mississippi, USA. It is the 72nd edition of the beauty pageant that selects Louisiana’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the country.

Currently, Louisiana has 29 Miss USA placements including the coronations of Eurlyne Howell in 1958, Sharon Brown in 1961 and Ali Landry in 1996. Representing the U.S., Howell was third runner-up to Miss Universe 1958 Luz Marina Zuluaga of Colombia, Brown was fourth runner-up to Miss Universe 1961 Marlene Schmidt of West Germany and Landry finished in the Top 6 at Miss Universe 1996.

On November 29, 2021, Tanya Crowe represented Louisiana at Miss USA 2021 and competed against 50 other candidates at the Paradise Cove Theater of the River Spirit Casino Resort in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA and finished in the Top 16. On August 4, 2024, Taylor represented Louisiana at Miss USA 2024 and competed against 50 other candidates at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, California, USA and was unplaced.
