Tristan Alexander Anderson, 22, of Hooksett, Merrimack County, New Hampshire, United States was charged with a misdemeanor of criminal threatening and a felony of threatening homicide or assault against a government official. He is being held without bail.
Kelly Ann Ayotte, 57, was born in Nashua, Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, which is around 28 miles away from Hooksett. She is the incumbent governor of the state.

Ayotte is Marc Frederick Ayotte and Kathleen M. Sullivan Ayotte‘s daughter. Marc is of French-Canadian descent.
After graduating from Nashua High School in Nashua, Kelly entered Pennsylvania State University in University Park, Pennsylvania, USA where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. In 1993, she earned a Juris Doctor from the Villanova University School of Law in Villanova, Pennsylvania.
In 1998, Kelly joined the New Hampshire attorney general’s office as a prosecutor. She has been a Republican since 2003.
Kelly served as the 27th New Hampshire attorney general from July 15, 2004 to July 17, 2009 and a senator from the state from January 3, 2011 to January 3, 2017. She assumed as the state’s 83rd governor on January 9, 2025.
Tristan Anderson
Anderson lives on West River Road in Hooksett with a female roommate. He is accused of knowingly threatened to harm or kill Kelly as retaliation for her role in public office.
In the middle of August 2025, Anderson sent his roommate a series of messages on Snapchat. In the messages, he said he planned to target Kelly and made anti-Semitic statements about what he called the “Israel Deep State”.
“I’m going to target the NH Mayor Kelly ayott,” Anderson wrote in one of the messages. “With my weapon of mass destruction.”
Anderson’s roommate shared the messages with her former boyfriend, who contacted the police department of Pembroke, Merrimack County. She told New Hampshire State Police that Anderson had access to firearms and materials used to make bombs.
On August 28, 2025, Anderson was arrested. On November 20, 2025, the Hooksett man will attend a dispositional conference.
