Sydney Taylor represented Lafayette, Lafayette Parish, Louisiana, United States at Miss Louisiana USA 2024, competed against 26 other candidates at the Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana on March 30, 2024. She won the title.

On September 20, 2025, Taylor crowned her successor Francie Millan of New Orleans, Louisiana at the Bologna Performing Arts Center in Cleveland, Bolivar County, Mississippi, USA. On October 24, 2025, the latter will represent Louisiana at Miss USA 2025 and compete against 50 other candidates at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, Washoe County, Nevada, USA.
