Whisenant is an American beauty queen from Birmingham, Alabama. She is an only child and was raised by her adoptive mother Cindy Whisenant, who is a single parent.

Kennedy was 2 days old when Cindy adopted her. Before the former graduated high school, the latter was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer.
