Abigail O’Keeffe extradited from Belmopan to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Abigail Tuttle O’Keeffe, 54, is the owner of Narrow Way Farm in Wrightstown, Wrightstown Township, Bucks County, Pennsylvania, United States. In July 2024, he left the country for Belize for a vacation and did not say when she would be back.

On August 6, 2024, the Bucks County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) visited Narrow Way Farm and found two cows, five sheep, 10 pigs, 29 chickens and 58 goats living in squalor. The cows had a hoof condition and some of the animals were undernourished and had parasites.

A goat and sheep were also found dead. When officers searched the house on the property, they found eight firearms and 73 pounds of suspected marijuana.

In January 2025, O’Keeffe was charged with more than 100 counts of animal cruelty. It is the largest case of farm animal cruelty in the U.S., according to the Bucks County SPCA.

The case was investigated by the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Marshals Office of International Operations, the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA, the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) office in Washington, USA, the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office and the Bucks County Sheriff’s Office. They coordinated with law enforcement in Belize.

On April 25, 2025, O’Keeffe was arrested for possession of a firearm in Benque Viejo, Belize. The U.S. State Department informed the U.S. Marshals about her arrest and inquired if they would be willing to return her to the U.S.

On September 18, 2025, O’Keeffe’s criminal case in Belize was settled. The governments of the U.S. and Belize arranged to have her returned for the animal cruelty charges.

On September 19, 2025, O’Keeffe was handed over to the U.S. Marshals and extradited from Belmopan, Cayo District, Belize to Philadelphia. At 10:30 p.m., she was turned over to the police department of Newtown Township, Bucks County.

Pablo Cawich is the incumbent mayor of Belmopan. Founded in 1970 as a planned community, the city is one of the newest national capital cities in the world.
