Fatou Bintou Gueye represented Louga, Senegal at Miss Senegal 2024 on July 12, 2024 at the Doudou Ndiaye Coumba Rose Grand Theater in Dakar, Senegal. She competed against 11 other candidates including Mame Fama Gaye, who won the title.
Gueye was the first runner-up. She was crowned Miss Universe Senegal 2024.
On September 27, 2025, Gueye crowned her successor Camilla Diagne of Dakar at the Centre Culturel Blaise Senghor in Dakar. On November 21, 2025, the latter will represent Senegal at Miss Universe 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand.

Senegal has yet to place in Miss Universe. The African country was represented in the international beauty pageant by Miss Senegal winners Thioro Thiam in 1974, Chantal Loubelo in 1985 and Fabienne Joelle Feliho in 1987.
In 1960, the Ministry of Tourism of Senegal founded Miss Senegal. From 1985 to 1986, Moise Ambroise Gomis was the national director of Miss Universe Senegal.
In January 2016, Amina Colle Badiane became the president of Miss Senegal. She became the national director of Miss Universe Senegal in 2024.
On November 16, 2024, Gueye represented Senegal at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico. She was unplaced.
