Buettell is an American beauty queen raised in Waterloo, Black Hawk County, Iowa. She is Teran Buettell‘s daughter.
Hayley is an alumna of Mediapolis High School in Mediapolis, Des Moines County, Iowa, Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa and the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. She owns Forget Me Not, an online thrift store and sustainable styling business based in North Liberty, Iowa.
