Syed Muhammad Zaid Alvi, 30, of East Lansing, Michigan, United States was a doctor at the University of Michigan Health − Sparrow in Lansing, Michigan. He was fired after a recent arrest.
Bail for Alvi was set at $1 million. He was booked into the Ingham County Jail in Mason, Michigan.

From 2012 to 2014, Alvi attended Nixor College in Karachi, Pakistan. From 2014 to 2019, he attended Ziauddin University in Karachi where he earned a bachelor’s degree in surgery.
Recently, Alvi, Gregory Leroy Jordan III, 37, of Lansing and Kalil Davonte Brown, 24, of Farmington Hills, Michigan allegedly engaged in extensive online communications with someone they thought was a girl aged 15 and arranged to meet them for sexual purposes. Unbeknownst to the three men, they were actually communicating with undercover officers.
On October 22, 2025, Alvi, Jordan and Brown arrived to meet and were taken into custody without incident. On October 24, 2025, they were arraigned on charges of child sexual abusive activity, children-accosting for immoral purposes and two counts of computers-internet-communicating with another to commit a crime.
On November 3, 2025, Jordan will attend a probable cause conference. Bond was set at $75,000 for him and Brown.

University of Michigan Health − Sparrow

From November 2024 to June 2025, he was a clinical research coordinator at Michigan State University in East Lansing. In July 2025, he joined the University of Michigan Health-Sparrow as a resident physician.
