Dorcas Dienda Kasinde represented the Democratic Republic of the Congo in the third edition of Miss Africa Calabar and the 74th edition of Miss Universe. She attended the Institut supérieur d’informatique programmation et d’analyse (ISIPA) in Shaumba, Kinshasa, DR Congo, the Belgian School at Athens in Athens, Greece and the Ecole Supérieure du Commerce Extérieur (ESCE) in Paris, France.

Dienda is a Congolese entrepreneur, model and beauty queen originally from Kinshasa. From there, she moved to Paris.

TIMELINE

Dienda is 6’0″ tall. Right before she received her Miss Africa Calabar 2018 crown, her hair caught fire from the fireworks onstage but people were quick to come to her rescue to extinguish the fire before it could cause damage.

2010s

  • In August 2016, she said in a Miss RD Congo 2016 interview on television, “L’homme blanc est plus intelligent que l’homme noir” (The white man is smarter than the black man). After the statement went viral, she apologized in a Miss RD Congo video, in which she said white people were more cunning than black people, which allowed the former to colonize the latter and draw the map of Africa.
  • On September 10, 2016, she represented the Congolese community of Paris at Miss RD Congo 2016 and competed against seven other candidates at the Pullman Hotel in Kinshasa. She finished in the Top 6.
  • On December 27, 2018, she represented the DR Congo at Miss Africa Calabar 2018 and competed against 24 other candidates at the Calabar International Convention Centre in Calabar, Cross River State, Nigeria. She won the title.
  • On December 28, 2019, she went back to the Calabar International Convention Centre to crown her successor Miss Africa Calabar 2019 Irene Mukii.

  • In May 2021, she traveled to Bodrum, Muğla, Türkiye and Istanbul, Turkiye.
  • In January 2023, she welcomed the new year in Paris.
