Davontè Howell, 19, was chosen by CONAN Daily as the Mister Frontier International 2025 candidate of the Cayman Islands. Launched on December 21, 2025, the contest is an exclusive digital search curated by the publication to spotlight the world’s most elusive and underrepresented nations in beauty pageants such as his home country.
Davontè Howell
Howell is a record-breaking sprinter and the rising face of track and field in the Cayman Islands. He is known for his double gold legacy at the Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA) Games and his historic participation in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where he represented the Caymanian people in the 100-meter sprint. For his explosive start and “Mustang” speed, he is widely considered the most promising young athlete in the Caribbean today.
In the Cayman Islands, Howell is viewed as a national treasure whose speed reflects the territory’s rapid economic growth and ambition. He is seen as a symbol of the next generation—world-class, determined and proud of his island roots.
Located in the western part of the Caribbean Sea, the Cayman Islands is a British overseas territory renowned as one of the world’s leading offshore financial centers. Economically, it boasts one of the highest gross domestic products (GDPs) per capita in the world, driven by banking, hedge funds, and high-end tourism. Politically stable and socially diverse, the territory is known for its people’s Caymankind philosophy—a culture of hospitality and resilience. How’ells record-breaking summer of 2025 has reinforced the territory’s reputation for producing world-class talent that punch far above their weight.
Mister Caribbean Velocity Frontier 2025
The year 2025 has been the fastest in Howell’s career. In August 2025 at the Junior Pan American Games in Asunción, Paraguay, he broke the event’s record twice in 24 hours. He clocked a stunning, wind-legal 9.98 seconds in the final, securing the first ever 100m gold medal for the Cayman Islands at the event.
This performance not only qualified Howell for the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, Japan but also saw him shortlisted for the Panam Sports Best Junior Male Athlete award. Throughout the year, he has balanced his elite training with community outreach, inspiring young Caymanians to pursue excellence on the global stage.
At Mister Frontier International 2025, Howell received the Mister Sports Icon award, which earned him a spot in the Top 15. For shattering regional barriers and placing his island at the top of the continental podium with historic speed, he is awarded by CONAN Daily the Mister Caribbean Velocity Frontier 2025 title.
Including Howell, a total of 35 men were selected by CONAN Daily as candidates of the inaugural edition of Mister Frontier International. The winner will be crowned on December 30, 2025.
