Kaimauri Erati, 21, has made history as the first ever Mister Frontier Sapphire. He is a weightlifter from Kiribati, an island country that has been a sovereign state since 1979 and a member of the United Nations since 1999.
On December 21, 2025, CONAN Daily selected Erati as Kiribati’s candidate in the inaugural edition of Mister Frontier International. The publication established the exclusive digital search to spotlight the last frontiers of beauty pageant to ensure that by the end of 2025, every country and territory has a representative celebrated in pageantry.

At the young age of 15, Erati began his international career during the 2019 Pacific Games. Over the years, he has established himself as a formidable competitor in the 67kg division, earning three bronze medals across the Oceania Championships and the Pacific Games.
Erati’s steady progression was evident at the 2023 World Championships in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where he placed 18th. The pinnacle of his career arrived at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France where he had the honor of serving as his Kiribati’s male flagbearer during the opening ceremony.
In Erati’s Olympic debut, he recorded a total lift of 220kg, securing the highest Olympic placement ever achieved by an I-Kiribati athlete in any sport. This not only highlights his personal dedication but also serves as a powerful testament to the ability of athletes from small archipelagic states to compete effectively on the world’s grandest stage.
Mister Frontier International 2025
After the Olympic Games, Erati participated in the Commonwealth Championships where he lifted 240kg (110+130) in the 67kg weight class. To honor his historic milestone that put Kiribati on the map, he was appointed Mister Frontier Kiribati 2025 by CONAN Daily.
Including Erati, 35 men were handpicked by the publication as the Mister Frontier International 2025 candidates. They were scored based on the engagement their photos and videos received on the CONAN Daily platforms from December 21-30, 2025, their photogenicity and their global influence.
Before the final round, Erati won the special title Mister Pacific Powerhouse Frontier 2025 and the People’s Choice award. By finishing in third place overall, he has earned the honorary title of Mister Frontier Sapphire 2025.
Often called the stone of wisdom, the sapphire symbolizes the vastness of the Pacific and the depth of the human intellect. It reflects Erati’s infinite’ spirit as a young leader from a small island nation who has proven that his potential is as deep as the blue ocean surrounding his home. It was Prince Abdul Mateen, 34, of Brunei who won the Mister Frontier International 2025 crown. Also crowned were Mister Frontier Diamond 2025 Karalo Maibuca, 26, of Tuvalu, Mister Frontier Sapphire 2025 Winzar Kakiouea, 24, of Nauru and Mister Frontier Ruby 2025 Myrat Bayram, 35, of Turkmenistan.
