Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing from her residence in Catalina Foothills, Arizona, United States on February 1, 2026. Her whereabouts remain unknown.

On the evening of January 31, 2026, family members dropped Guthrie home. That was the last time she was seen.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation believes that Guthrie was taken against her will by a male kidnapper described as being between 5’9″ and 5’10” tall with an average build. During the incident, the individual was allegedly wearing a mask and a 25-liter Ozark Trail hiker pack.

Guthrie’s daughter Savannah Clark Guthrie was married to Mark Orchard from 2005 to 2009. In 2014, Savannah married Michael Feldman.

Since 2012, Savannah has been a co-anchor of the NBC show “Today”. On October 14, 2025, Feldman turned 57 and on December 27, 2025, Savannah turned 54.

Derrick Callella

Derrick Anthony Callella, 42, of Hawthorne, California, USA was an intermediate clerk for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services in Los Angeles, California. He is also a resident of Torrance, California.

Between May 6, 2020 and January 20, 2022, Callella allegedly stole $9,984 in unemployment benefits amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. On July 25, 2025, he turned 42.

On October 15, 2025, Callella was charged with felony grand theft related to this scheme. His arraignment was scheduled for November 20, 2025, in Department 30 of the Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles, where he pleaded not guilty.

On February 4, 2026, Callella sent two ransom text messages to Nancy’s family. Acting as an impostor, he used a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) program to disguise his phone number but FBI agents traced the text message to an internet protocol (IP) address linked to his residence.

On February 5, 2026, FBI agents arrested Callella in Hawthorne. According to the bureau, he admitted to sending the messages after he found information about Nancy’s family online and made a 9-second phone call to a family member.

On February 6, 2026, Callella made his first court appearance in Los Angeles. He was released on $20,000 bond.

On February 12, 2026, Callella appeared in federal court in Tucson, Arizona and was charged with transmitting a demand for ransom in interstate commerce, and without disclosing his identity, utilizing a telecommunications device with intent to abuse, threaten or harass a person. He was released with pre-trial restrictions.
