Abbigail “Abby” Sturgin is a Laotian-Kiwi frontline police officer and model born and raised in Auckland, New Zealand. On June 24, 2025, she competed against 12 other Miss Universe New Zealand 2025 candidates at the SkyCity Theatre in Auckland and won the title.
Runner-up to Sturgin was Hannah Cross and the respective second, third and fourth runners-up were Noor Randhawa, Gazelle Garcia and Deborah Lambie. While Lucrezia Bradley did not make it to the Top 5, she was crowned The Miss Globe New Zealand 2025.
Garcia was crowned Miss Grand New Zealand 2025. Also crowned were Cross as Miss Asia Pacific New Zealand 2025 and Randhawa as Miss Scuba New Zealand 2025.
Miss Universe New Zealand 2026
On July 28, 2026, Sturgin will go back to the SkyCity Theatre in Auckland to crown her successor. It is the 60th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the Miss Universe, Miss Grand International, Miss Asia Pacific International, The Miss Globe and Miss Scuba International candidates of New Zealand.

New Zealand in international pageants in 2025
On October 8, 2025, Cross represented New Zealand at Miss Asia Pacific International 2025 and competed against 42 other candidates at the Cebu Coliseum in Cebu City, Philippines. She finished in the Top 10.
On October 18, 2025, Garcia represented New Zealand at Miss Grand International 2025 and competed against 76 other candidates at the MGI Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. She was unplaced.
On October 15, 2025, Bradley represented New Zealand at The Miss Globe 2025 and competed against 49 other candidates at The Palace of Congresses in Tirana, Albania. She finished in the Top 21.
On November 21, 2025, Sturgin represented New Zealand at Miss Universe 2025 and competed against 119 other candidates at the Impact Challenger Hall in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, Thailand. She was unplaced.
