62 Miss Universe Canada 2010 candidates competing in Toronto, Ontario

Currently, Canada has 16 Miss Universe placements including the coronation of Karen Baldwin in 1982 and Natalie Glebova in 2005. The most recent one was in 2006 when Alice Panikian finished in the Top 10.

Canada was represented in Miss Universe by Miss Toronto in 1952, Silknit Limited‘s appointed candidate from 1952 to 1958, Miss Dominion of Canada from 1959 to 1977, Miss Canada from 1978 to 1992 and Miss Canadian Universe from 1993 to 2002. The inaugural edition of Miss Universe Canada was held in 2003.

Miss Universe Canada 2010

On May 16, 2009, Mariana Valente of Richmond Hill was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2009 at the John Bassett Theatre of the Metro Toronto Convention Center in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The respective first, second, third and fourth runners-up were Ylenia Aurucci of Victoria, Ksenia Mezenina of South Toronto, Neda Derakhshan of Upper Canada and Isabelle Grastin of North Toronto.

On June 14, 2010, Valente will go back to the John Bassett Theatre of the Metro Toronto Convention Center to crown her successor. It is the eighth edition of the national beauty pageant that selects Canada’s Miss Universe candidate.

A total of 62 women will compete for the Miss Universe Canada 2010 title. Here are the candidates:
