Did Dak Lam shoot his fellow Omaha resident Keah Paljor?
Keah Paljor of Omaha, Nebraska, United States has died. He as 21.
On October 12, 2024, Omaha Police Department officers responded to a 911 call of a shooting near 29th and T streets in Omaha. They found Paljor in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Paljor was shot allegedly by Dak Lam, 22, of Omaha. The victim was transported to Nebraska Medicine in Omaha where he died.
On October 15, 2024, a warrant for Lam’s arrest was issued. He fled Omaha and hid in Colorado, USA, according to information developed on October 17, 2024 by task force officers from the Omaha Police Department’s fugitive unit who are assigned to the U.S. Marshals Service’s Metro Fugitive Task Force in Omaha.
The information was relayed to the U.S. Marshals Service’s Colorado Violent Offender Task Force (COVOTF) members who picked up the investigation in Colorado. They later observed a rental black Ford Taurus sedan with Nebraska license plates pull up to a residence of a known family member of Lam.
A balaclava completely masked Lam’s face while he exited the vehicle and entered the residence. Investigators identified the renter of the vehicle and connected them to him in order to obtain a search warrant for the residence.
The special weapons and tactics (SWAT) team of the police department of Westminster, Colorado executive the search warrant at the residence where Lam was arrested. The department’s patrol units transported him to the Adams County Jail in Brighton, Colorado.
Currently, Lam is awaiting extradition. He was charged with first-degree murder.
