Christopher James Hooker, 54, of Turlock, Stanislaus County, California, United States has been arrested. He used to work as a teacher at Davis High School in Davis, Yolo County, California and James C. Enochs High School in Modesto, Stanislaus County.

In August 1998, Hooker performed oral sex on Michelle Miller, then 17, at his mother’s house near Turlock. At the time, she was a senior student at Fred C. Beyer High School in Modesto.

According to Miller, they first met at a Future Business Leaders of America conference in Orlando, Florida, USA while he was a business teacher at Davis High School. She said they had a romantic relationship after her high school graduation.

A few weeks after the sexual encounter, Hooker ended his relationship with Miller. He told her his wife had discovered an email that revealed the affair.

In 2009, Hooker met Jordan Powers, then 15, a freshman James C. Enochs High School where she and one of her daughters were attending. He befriended Powers and started an affair with her.

In order to date Powers, Hooker left his wife and children. He and Powers appeared on national television programs including “Dr. Phil” to talk about their relationship.

Powers’ mother Tammie Powers contacted the authorities and reported an inappropriate relationship between Hooker and Jordan. In January 2012, detectives began to investigate him.

After Hooker’s relationship with Jordan came to light, Modesto City Schools placed Hooker on administrative leave on February 3, 2012. In March 2012, he quit his job as a teacher and moved into an apartment with her.

On April 6, 2012, Hooker was arrested for performing oral sex on Miller when she was a minor. In October 2012, she testified in his preliminary hearing.

On July 15, 2023, Hooker pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor charge of having oral sex with an underage high school student. He was required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life as part of the plea deal.

On July 17, 2013, Hooker was sentenced to four years of probation. Mary Lynn Belsher represented him while Gloria Allred was Miller’s attorney.

On May 17, 2024, a woman came across Turlock Police Department officers during an unrelated case. She told the officers that when she was a minor, she met Hooker through social media.

For four years, Hooker was in a relationship with the accuser. According to her, it started when she was a middle school student and 15 years old and when she was 18, they got married.

On November 5, 2024, officers with the police department of Ceres, Stanislaus County took Hooker into custody without incident. His accuser’s name and the year they got married have yet to be revealed.

Hooker was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail in Modesto. He was charged with lewd acts with a child and possession of material depicting sexual conduct of a person under 18.
