Why was Daymon Wallace arrested?
Daymon Wallace, 24, of Redding, Shasta County, California, United States has been arrested. He is accused of sexually abusing a child.
In November 2024, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) received information about a sexual abuse allegation against an adult male suspect. The Shasta County Major Crimes Unit (SINTF) assumed the investigation and identified Wallace as the suspect.
On December 18, 2024, SCSO agents and SINTF detectives obtained a felony warrant for Wallace’s arrest. On December 31, 2024, detectives went to his residence in Redding and served the warrant.
Wallace was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with communicating with a minor with lewd intent, oral copulation with a minor and eight counts of lewd and lascivious acts with a minor.
Bail for Wallace was set at $100,000. He was booked into the Shasta County Jail in Redding.
Based in Nashville, Davidson County, Tennessee, USA, healthcare company Wellpath was hired to provide medical treatment at the Shasta County Jail. In June 2024, a grand jury issued a report stating that the company has not been properly screening people brought to the jail for the staph skin infection Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
