Who is Logan Michael Spencer?
Logan Michael Spencer, 28, of Roanoke, Virginia, United States has served as volunteer chief for the Cave Spring Rescue Squad, a rescue squad in Cave Spring, Roanoke County, Virginia, since 2020. He was also employed as dispatcher in the Emergency Communications Center of Roanoke County.
Recently, Spencer was arrested so the Cave Spring Rescue Squad suspended him. The Emergency Communications Center also placed him on administrative leave.
During the 2024-2025 school year, Spencer served as a substitute bus driver for Salem City Schools in Salem, Virginia on three occasions. He also worked in various roles at the YMCA of Virginia’s Blue Ridge in Roanoke, including after-school programming.
On February 24, 2025, detectives from Franklin County, Virginia; the Virginia State Police and special victims unit of the Roanoke Police Department (RPD) executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2500 block of Weaver Road Southwest in Roanoke. This was after the RPD received a tip from Southern Virginia’s Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce.
That day, Spencer was arrested and charged with possession, reproduction, distribution, solicitation and facilitation of child pornography. Anyone with information about his alleged crimes is asked to contact the RPD at 540-344-8500.
Scott Booth has been the RPD chief since October 2023. In 1996, he started his law enforcement career with the police department of Richmond, Virginia.
