Jehlynn Sachejuan Woods, 24, of Pensacola, Escambia County, Florida, United States has been arrested. He is accused of fatally shooting a man.
8Fifty Event Center
Pensacola is the country seat of Escambia County. The city is home to Pensacola Catholic High School, Pensacola Christian Academy, Pensacola State College, the University of West Florida and the West Florida High School of Advanced Technology.
The 8Fifty Event Center is located on the corner of Delano Street and Pace Boulevard in Pensacola. Formerly a nightclub, the event center offers over 9,000 square feet of versatile event space, which can be used for community gatherings and private rentals.
Smoking is not allowed inside the event center. Most events there require individuals to be at least 25 years old to enter.
Jehlynn Woods
At 2:30 a.m. on April 19, 2025, a man, 34, was fatally shot outside the 8Fifty Event Center allegedly by Woods. Authorities have yet to release the name of the victim, who had a gunshot wound to the head.
The victim died from his injuries. He was 34.
Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene. They have located two witnesses namely Jerel Williams-Foster, 34, and Jayven Daysean Floyd, 23, who were both wanted for questioning.
How Woods is related to the victim and the two witnesses is unclear. On the evening of April 20, 2025, the suspect was arrested.
Woods is being held in Escambia County Jail in Pensacola without bond. He was charged with murder, firing a weapon in public and weapon possession by a convicted felon.
On September 28, 2021, Ariel Myrtis Stevens filed a lawsuit against Woods in Escambia County. It was related to child support.
On January 28, 2022, Woods registered to vote in Florida. He is affiliated with the Democratic Party in the state.
On July 28, 2024, Stevens turned 23. On January 1, 2025, Woods turned 24.
