Nicole Morgan Baird Hernandez, 30, of Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States is an art teacher at Wichita North High School in Wichita. She has been placed on paid administrative leave since her recent arrest.
EMCU
On May 19, 2025, the Exploited and Missing Child Unit (EMCU) in Wichita received a report about an inappropriate relationship between Hernandez and a Wichita North High School student. The student was older than 16.
The EMCU investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect, child exploitation and reports of missing or abducted children. It is a cooperative, joint investigative unit staffed with the personnel of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office, the Wichita Police Department and the Kansas Department of Children and Families.
In January 2025, the Wichita Police Department launched a hotline dedicated to cases investigated by the EMCU and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) between 2019 and 2024. Anyone with questions or concerns about a specific case that occurred during this period is asked to call the hotline at 316-268-4500.
Nicole Hernandez
On May 22, 2025, EMCU detectives arrested Hernandez. She was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail in Wichita.
Hernandez was charged with four counts of unlawful sexual relations with a student, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office. She has been released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond.
On June 16, 2025, Hernandez will appear in court. She is also known as Nicole Baird.
