Kenneth Moore of Ohio, United States has died. He was 61.

Jacob Hughes

Dorothy “Annie” Todd has been the chief of the Cleveland Division of Police in Cleveland, Cuyahoga County, Ohio since February 29, 2024. Jacob Hughes, 61, of Cleveland was wanted by the agency for aggravated murder.

Hughes is accused of fatally stabbing Moore at a residence in the 10500 block of Elk Avenue in Glenville, Cleveland on May 30, 2025. The residence was set on fire allegedly by the suspect in an attempt to destroy evidence.

After firefighters extinguished the blaze, they found Moore’s body. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

The blaze was ruled an arson. Moore was stabbed before the fire was set, according to an autopsy conducted by the office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner.

Authorities have yet to release details about how Moore and Hughes knew each other. The suspect was potentially homeless and getting around Cleveland on a bike, according to an investigation by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) led by the U.S. Marshals Service.

On June 20, 2025, Hughes was riding down the street on a bicycle on E. 109th Street in Cleveland when he was arrested by members of the NOVFTF. The task force did not release other details about his arrest.
