Dr. Thanolo Caroline Thato Keutlwile was born in Thamaga, Kweneng, Botswana. From 2014 to 2020, she attended the University of Botswana in Gaborone, Botswana where she earned her bachelor’s degree in surgery.

On September 21, 2024, Keutlwile competed against 19 other Miss Universe Botswana 2024 finalists at the Gaborone International Conference Centre in Gaborone and won the title. Leila Anderson and Sebega Manyapetsa were the first and second runners-up, respectively.

Miss Universe Botswana 2025 contestants

On August 30, 2025, Keutlwile will crown her successor at the Adansonia Hotel in Francistown, Botswana. It is the 10th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the country’s Miss Universe candidate.

There are 14 women competing for the Miss Universe Botswana 2025 title. Here are the candidates:

Botswana currently has one Miss Universe placement. The country was represented in the international beauty pageant by Mpule Kwelagobe in 1999, Joyce Molemoeng in 2000, Mataila Sikwane in 2001, Icho Keolotswe in 2004, Tirelo Ramasedi in 2010, Larona Motlatsi Kgabo in 2011, Sheillah Molelekwa in 2012, Tsaone Macheng in 2013 and Keutlwile in 2024.

On March 19, 1999, Mpule competed against nine other Miss Universe Botswana 1999 finalists at the Grand Palm Hotel  Casino Resort in Gaborone and won the title. On May 26, 1999, she represented Botswana at Miss Universe 1999, competed against 83 other candidates at the Chaguaramas Convention Centre in Chaguaramas, Trinidad and Tobago and won the title.

On November 16, 2024, Keutlwile represented Botswana at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico (Arena CDMX) in Mexico City, Mexico. She was unplaced.
