Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina represented Taraba at Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 on August 31, 2024, competed against 24 other candidates at the Eko Hotels and Suits on Victoria Island in Lagos, Nigeria and won the title. On August 30, 2025, her successor Basil Onyinyechi of Anambra was crowned at the Balmoral Convention Center of the Federal Palace Hotel and Casino on Victoria Island.
Adetshina did not attend the Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 coronation ceremony. Onyinyechi was crowned by Miss Universe Nigeria producer Juliette Hagerman.
