Matilda Wirtavuori attended Tampereen Lyseon Lukio in Tampere, Finland from 2016 to 2019. From 2019 to 2022, she attended Tampere University in Tampere where she earned her bachelor’s degree in economics and business administration.
On August 7, 2021, Wirtavuori was crowned Miss Tampere 2021 at Periscope in Tampere. On September 14, 2024, Wirtavuori competed against nine other Miss Suomi 2024 candidates at the Aino Arena in Järvenpää, Uusimaa, Finland and won the title.
Runner-up to Wirtavuori was Tiia Aalto, who was crowned Miss International Finland 2024. The second runner-up was Amanda Hakalax.
Miss Suomi 2025 predictions
On September 6, 2025, Wirtavuori will crown her successor at Hybridiarena Hype in Espoo, Finland. It is the 94th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the country’s Miss Universe candidate.

On November 16, 2024, Wirtavuori represented Finland at Miss Universe 2024 and competed against 124 other candidates at the Arena Ciudad de México (Arena CDMX) in Azcapotzalco, Mexico City, Mexico. She finished in the Top 30 and was crowned Miss Universe Europe and Middle East 2024.
