Matt Robinson of Washington, Washington County, Utah, United States is a construction worker. A man of the same name is a former deputy at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, which is based in Hurricane, Washington County.
Matt was never a Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputy. He runs a family-owned construction company that makes stone countertops.
However, recent reports claimed that Matt was a Washington County Sheriff’s Office veteran. In response, the agency released a statement to clarify that he and the former deputy of the agency, who shares the same name, are not related.

In 2021, Tyler graduated from Pine View High School in Saint George, Washington County. That year, he attended Utah State University in Logan, Cache County, Utah for one semester on a 4-year merit scholarship.
After taking a leave of absence, Tyler did not return to Utah State University. On July 13, 2021, he registered as a voter and did not declare his political party.
In 2022, Tyler obtained an apprentice electrician license. In 2023, he joined an electrical apprenticeship program at Dixie Technical College in St. George.
While attending Dixie Technical College, Tyler lived both at his parents residence in Washington and in an apartment complex in St. George. At 12:20 p.m. on September 10, 2025, he allegedly arrived at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah County, Utah driving a gray Dodge Challenger and fatally shot Charlie Kirk while the latter was speaking at a rally at the university.
Kirk was 31. He and his wife Erika Frantzve have two children together.
