At around 11:30 a.m. on June 12, 2025, Miller attended a card game at Everton’s residence along the 2600 block of Baird Boulevard in Camden. That was the last time the former was seen alive.
Shortly after Miller entered the residence, he was fatally shot allegedly by Everton. After committing the crime, the suspect allegedly moved the victim’s car to Pennsauken Township, New Jersey.
Following Everton’s commands, Parker and Deshawn allegedly used a chainsaw to dismember Miller’s body. Surveillance camera filmed Deshawn and his mother making several trips to dumpsters at the Tamarack Apartments in Camden and loading containers and trash bags into a car before leaving the city.
On June 14, 2025, Miller was reported missing by his family to the Deptford Township Police Department. On the same day, his car was found in Pennsauken Township and it was empty.
On June 20, 2025, police officers searched Everton’s residence in Camden and found him in possession of a firearm that was nearly fully loaded. They also found suspected bloodstains at the residence, which matched Miller’s deoxyribonucleic acid.
Hours after being taken in for questioning, Everton was released without charges. On June 21, 2025, he fled from the U.S. to Canada via Buffalo, New York, USA.
On September 5, 2025, Everton was charged with first-degree murder. Moreover, he, Parker and Deshawn were each charged with second-degree desecration of human remains and fourth-degree tampering with evidence.

On the same day, U.S. Customs and Border Patrol officers arrested Everton at the Port of Buffalo in Buffalo as he crossed from Canada back to the U.S. on a commercial bus. He was turned over to the New York State Police as a fugitive from justice and will be extradited from New York to New Jersey.
