Joram Núñez Joaquin, 37, is a pastor at the Light of the World Church in Cicero, Cook County, Illinois, United States. The church is part of La Luz Del Mundo (LLDM), a nontrinitarian Christian denomination based in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico.

Núñez is a married father of three children. His cousin Naason Joaquin Garcia is Samuel Joaquín Flores and Eva Garcia de Joaquin‘s son.
In 1926, Samuel’s father Eusebio Joaquín González founded the LLDM in Guadalajara. Samuel served as the leader of the Joaquín LLDM Enterprise, which allegedly operated for the sexual gratification of Samuel and Naason for years.
For decades, Naason, Eva, Núñez, Rosa Sosa, Azalia Rangel Garcia and Silem Garcia Peña allegedly engaged in a racketeering enterprise that exploited the LLDM and facilitated the systemic sexual abuse of children and women. They are accused of creating photos and videos of sadistic child sexual abuse.
After Samuel’s death in 2014, Naason became the new leader of the enterprise. In 2022, the latter pleaded guilty to two state counts and was sentenced to 16 years in prison.
On September 10, 2025, Jay Clayton of the Southern District of New York, Ricky J. Patel of Homeland Security Investigations and Harry T. Chavis Jr. of the Internal Revenue Service announced the unsealing of an indictment charging Núñez, Eva, Naason, Sosa, Rangel and Silem with sexual, financial, and related criminal conduct victimizing LLDM members over many years. That day, Eva was arrested in Los Angeles, California, USA, Naason was arrested in Chino, California and Núñez was arrested outside Chicago, Illinois.
Silem acted as the head of public relations for Naason and the LLDM. He, Sosa and Rangel are at large and believed to be in Mexico.
On September 15, 2025, Núñez appeared in a courtroom in the Dirksen Federal Building in Chicago. He was charged with racketeering conspiracy and ordered to remain in custody and be transferred to the Southern District of New York.
