Carrie Elizabeth Dimas Romney of Valencia, Santa Clarita, California, United States has died. She was 64.
Romney was married to George Scott Romney, 81. He goes by Scott to distinguish himself from his father George Wilcken Romney, who served as the 43rd governor of Michigan, USA from January 1, 1963 to January 22, 1969.

Aside from Santa Clarita, Carrie lived in other parts of California including Camarillo, Danville, Oceanside, Santa Ana and Temecula. She also lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA; Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA; Lincoln Park, Michigan; Manti, Utah, USA and Ogden, Utah.
Carrie’s mother Nancy Emma Lillie was born in Pocatello, Idaho, USA to Sherman Lillie and Mildred Squibb Lillie. Nancy and John Dimas met in 1950 and got married in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1951.
Nancy gave birth to Michael Dimas in 1953, David Dimas in 1955, Raymond Dimas in 1959, Carrie in 1961 and Anne Marie Dimas in 1966. John and Nancy bought their first home in Santa Ana in 1963 and divorced in 1976.
In June 1984, Nancy married Corky Griffin, who passed away in July 2007. She turned 88 on October 24, 2017, suffered a stoke on April 16, 2018 and died on April 29, 2018.
In 2001, Carrie filed a Chapter 7 bankruptcy with a former husband. In 2012, she started dating Scott.
On November 16, 2016, Carrie married Scott. It was his third marriage.
Scott Romney
Scott was married to Ronna Eileen Stern from 1967 to 1992 and Sheri Jelalian from 2011 to 2016. His brother Mitt Romney served as the 70th governor of Massachusetts, USA from January 2, 2003 to January 4, 2007 and a senator from Utah from January 3, 2019 to January 3, 2025.
Scott and Carrie lived together at a $725,000 condominium in Valencia and shared no children. They separated on May 25, 2025.
On June 10, 2025, Scott filed for divorce against Carrie citing irreconcilable differences and sought to terminate the court’s ability to award support to either person in the divorce. Both parties agreed to mediate property and support.
However, Carried filed a petition requesting that Scott pay the legal costs of their divorce and provide her with alimony. She also requested that her name be restored to her maiden name.
On September 26, 2025, Carrie turned 64. At around 8:30 p.m. on October 10, 2025, she was found dead at the base of a parking garage in Valencia.
Carrie’s car was parked at the garage, which is near a Hyatt Regency Hotel. Investigators have yet to determine whether she jumped or accidentally fell.
Scott has yet to release a statement about Carrie’s death. Their divorce was not finalized before her death.
