David Brian Pearce, 42, of Los Angeles, California, United States was sentenced by Los Angeles County superior court judge Eleanor Hunter to 146 years to life in prison on October 29, 2025. He is a self-described nightlife promoter and movie producer who lived in an apartment on Olympic Boulevard in Pico- Robertson, Los Angeles.
The sentence includes six years in prison for the sexual assault of Lauren Craven. Pearce also got 15 years to life for raping six other women.
Pearce was accused of providing the drugs that caused Christy Lee Giles Cilliers and Hilda Marcela Cabrales Arzola to overdose in his apartment. Both women passed away.
Lauren Craven
Craven was a police officer born in Bend, Oregon to David Craven and Belle Craven. David and Belle have another daughter named Margo Craven.
In 2019, Lauren graduated from Summit High School in Bend. In 2020, she was sexually assaulted by Pearce while she was unconscious.
Lauren went through the police academy twice. In February 2024, she joined the police department of La Mesa, California.
Just before 10:30 p.m. on October 20, 2025, while Lauren was working as a patrol officer, she stopped to help two motorists in a crash on Interstate 8 northeast of San Diego, California. She was hit by an oncoming vehicle.
On October 23, 2025, Lauren died. She was 25.
Christy Giles
Giles was married to Jan Cilliers. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, she was Leslie Wayne Giles and Dusty Leslie Lee‘s youngest daughter and Britnee Giles and Misty Giles Weldon’s younger sister.
Christy was a Junior Miss Gardendale Magnolia Festival titleholder. She was runner-up to Miss Alabama Teen USA 2013 Lorin Holcombe before she finished in the Top 10 at Miss Alabama Teen USA 2014.
In 2013, Christy left school and started modeling full-time. She later moved to Los Angeles to work as a model.
Jan met Christy in 2019, the same year she and Cabrales befriended one another while they were both studying interior design. On November 4, 2021, Christy turned 24.
Hilda Marcela Cabrales
Cabrales was an architect and interior designer born in Durango, Mexico. She is the oldest daughter of Luis Cabrales Rivera and Hilda Marcela Arzola Plascencia is a doctor in Durango.
In November 2019, Cabrales joined Atrio Interiores in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon as a lead project manager. She graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Monterrey in San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, Mexico.
From Mexico, Cabrales moved to Los Angeles. On November 25, 2020, she turned 26.
Brandt Osborn
Brandt Walter Osborn is an actor born in Staten Island, New York City, New York, USA. He attended Curtis High School in Staten Island and the State University of New York at Albany in Albany, New York and earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with a concentration in media studies from the College of Staten Island in Staten Island.
Aside from acting, Osborn also worked as a print model and was an intern at K-ROCK on the “Howard Stern Show”. When he moved to Los Angeles, he became Pearce’s roommate.
Osborn appeared in an episode of “Nurse Jackie” in 2014 and an episode of “Double Cross” in 2023 and played bit roles in the films “Sister Cities” in 2016, “Obamaland Part 1: Rise of the Trumpublikans” in 2017 and “A Screenshot to Santa” in 2023. Also known as Bobby Delfrati, he turned 46 on September 12, 2025.
Michael Ansbach
Ansbach is a cinematographer from Poughkeepsie, New York. He graduated from the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College in Ithaca, New York.
From New York, Ansbach moved to Los Angeles. He was a camera operator in “Vamderpump Rules” from 2014 to 2015, “Famously Single” from 2016 to 2017, “TKO: Total Knock Out” in 2018 and “Pet Stars” in 2021.
On September 20, 2025, Ansbach turned 51. He is Pearce and Osborn’s acquaintance.
David Brian Pearce
Between 2007 and 2020, Pearce allegedly sexually assaulted six women. Amid the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Christy and Cabrales crossed paths with him.
At around 3:00 a.m. on November 13, 2021, Pearce met with Christy and Cabrales at a warehouse party in Los Angeles with his roommate Osborn and Ansbach. At around 5:00 a.m., the two women accompanied the three men back to Pearce and Osborn’s apartment.
While at the apartment, Pearce provided Christy, Cabrales and Ansbach fentanyl and gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB), which is also known as a date rape drug. At around 5:35 a..m., Cabrales called a rideshare service but neither she nor Christy left the apartment.
Pearce carried Christy out of the apartment at around 12:30 p.m. then Cabrales at around 2:00 p.m. Osborn allegedly accompanied Pearce in a Toyota Prius when the latter dropped Christy outside Southern California Hospital in Culver City, California and Cabrales outside Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Hospital in Los Angeles.
Christy was already dead while Cabrales was alive but in critical condition. The former died of a mixture of GHB, cocaine, fentanyl and ketamine and the latter suffered from multiple organ failure.
Cocaine, methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy) and other undetermined drugs were found in Cabrales’s system. On November 24, 2021, her family took her off life support.
On December 15, 2021, Pearce and Ansbach were arrested and on the same day, Osborn was arrested on the set of “NCIS: Los Angeles” in Hollywood, Los Angeles. Pearce was charged with manslaughter while Ansbach and Osborn were each charged with being an accessory after the fact.
In addition, Pearce was initially charged with sexually assaulting four women and prosecutors later added sexual assault charges involving three other women. In February 2022, Ansbach gave police details of what he witnessed the night Pearce drugged Christy and Cabrales.
The charges filed against Ansbach were later dropped and he served as a witness in court. On January 24, 2023, Pearce pleaded not guilty to two counts of first-degree murder and a series of unrelated alleged sexual assaults involving Lauren and six other women while Osborn pleaded not guilty to two counts of being an accessory after the fact.
On February 4, 2025, a seven-man, five-woman jury found Pearce guilty of sexual penetration by use of force, sodomy by use of force, rape of an unconscious woman, sexual penetration by foreign object and three counts of forcible rape in the sexual assaults of seven different victims and two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Christy and Cabrales. The jury failed to reach a unanimous verdict on the accessory charges filed against Osborn.
On February 9, 2025, Hadwin Perry independently published a book called “The Story of David Brian Pearce”. On February 17, 2025, Pearce turned 42.
