Christy” actor Sydney Sweeney attended the Variety’s 2025 Power of Women event at The Beverly Hills Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, United States on October 29, 2025. She, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kate Hudson , Nicole Scherzinger and Wanda Sykes were among the honorees at the event.

Sweeney wore a a sheer and sparkling silver Christian Cowan dress. She accessorized the dress with EFFY jewelry.

On the red carpet, Sweeney posed for photos with Curtis, Sharon Stone and Christine Renea Salters, who is also known as Christy Martin. Born in Mullens, West Virginia, USA to John Salters and Joyce Salters, Martin holds a professional boxing record of 49 wins, 7 losses and 3 draws.

David Michôd directed “Christy”, a biological sports drama film about the boxer played by Sweeney, from a screenplay he wrote with Mirrah Foulkes. The film stars Ben Foster and Katy O’Brian as James and Holewyne, respectively, Ethan Embry and Merritt Wever as Christy’s parents and Coleman Pedigo as Christy’s brother Randy Salters.

Adrian Lockett and Naomi Graham play boxers Mike Tyson and Laila Ali, respectively. Joining them in the cast are James Self as a coach, Jordan Nelson as a doctor, Brandy Renee Brown as a hotel housekeeper, Carrie Stauber as a judge, Myke Holmes as a lawyer, Braden Bunch as a ring announcer, Tamara Hopkins as a waitress, Evit Emerson as a weigh-in official, Carter Shaw and Courtney Grace as journalists, Arischa Conner and Kelly Ann Hoyle as nurses and Anthony Bui, Brian Ashton Smith, DeeJay Sturdivant, Hank Quillen, Joshua Lamboy, Matt Baiamonte, Michael Quinn and Ryan Robertson as referees.

The film also features Ben Aycrigg, Ben Foster, Bill Kelly, Bryan Hibbard, Chad Coleman, Emma Jackson, Gilbert Cruz, Jay Croft, Jess Gabor, Madison Hobbs, Mamie Keith Garard, Marvin LaViolette, Miles Mussenden, Stephanie Baur, Stephanie Benkovich, Tony Cavalero, Valyn Hall and Walter “Buddy” Carter.
