Abdul Mateen is a prominent member of the Bruneian Royal Family, a commissioned military officer and a world-class professional athlete. Globally known as a modern prince, he is recognized for his service in the Royal Brunei Air Force and his massive social media reach with over 3.1 million followers. In the sporting world, he is a celebrated polo player who has represented his nation at the highest levels of international competition.

Mister Sovereign Commander Frontier 2025
The year 2025 has been a landmark for Abdul Mateen’s career and national service. On November 6, 2025, he was officially conferred the rank insignia of lieutenant colonel by His Majesty the Sultan of Brunei. This promotion followed his successful graduation from the Advanced Command and Staff Course at the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom in July 2025.
In the arena of sports, Abdul Mateen led Brunei’s national polo team to a silver medal in the 2–4 goals division and a bronze sedal in the 4–6 goals division at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand in December 2025. His performance, particularly in the victory over Malaysia to secure the silver, was a highlight of the games for the Bruneian delegation.
At Mister Frontier International 2025, Abdul Mateen won the Mister Global Influence award, which earned him a spot in the Top 15. For his exceptional military advancement and his command of the international polo circuit in 2025, he is awarded by CONAN Daily the Mister Sovereign Commander Frontier 2025 title.
Including the prince, a total of 35 men were selected by CONAN Daily as candidates of the inaugural edition of Mister Frontier International. The winner will be crowned on December 30, 2025.
