Conn is no longer associated with the McCracken County Public Schools. While he was a volunteering as a wrestling coach, he allegedly engaged in a sexual relationship with a student in 2025.
On January 11, 2026, the school district received a report of possible inappropriate conduct involving Conn and the student. On the same day, the school district contacted the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.
Right after receiving the tip, the department launched an investigation, interviewed potential victims and collected digital evidence related to the case. An arrest warrant and a search warrant were obtained by detectives.
“The incident related to the individual’s involvement with the school is classified as a misdemeanor,” the school district stated. “Any felony charges associated with the individual are not related to the person’s former role as a volunteer coach with the district.”
On January 12, 2026, the school district barred Conn from all school property. On January 23, 2026, the search warrant was executed at his residence in Paducah.
On January 24, 2026, Port Authority Police and U.S. Border Patrol agents took him into custody in San Diego, California. He was charged with one count of official misconduct, two counts of voyeurism and two counts of possession of matter portraying a sexual act by a minor over 12.
The official misconduct is the only charge related to the school, according to McCracken County sheriff Ryan Norman. The voyeurism charges do not pertain to anything that happened on school property, he said.
Before Conn was charged, he was in Mexico for a medical procedure, according to his attorney Jeremy Ian Smith. After learning that there was a warrant for his arrest, the Paducah man turned himself, the attorney claimed.
