James Watson Wells Jr., 50, and Brett Patrick Eck, 35, were recently arrested on separate accusations of sex crimes. They are both residents of Wichita, Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States.
James Wells

Aside from Wichita, Wells has lived in other parts of Wichita including Holton, Milford, Quenemo, Seneca and Topeka. In 2006, he was charged and convicted of child sex crimes in Nemaha County, Kansas.
On August 1, 2025 and on August 30, 2025, Wells allegedly “did then and there unlawfully engage in lewd fondling or touching of a child under 14 years of age”. This is according to a complaint filed on October 22, 2026.
On October 24, 2026, Wells was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail in Wichita and charged with aggravated indecent liberties with a child. His bond was set at $500,000.
Brett Eck
Eck is 5’10” tall and his registered weight is 150 pounds. Before moving to Wichita, he was a resident of Sarasota, Sarasota County, Florida, USA.
On December 11, 2025, Eck was arrested in Bel Aire, Sedgwick County on a charge of fugitive from justice. On October 23, 2026, Wichita Police Department officers arrested him.
On October 24, 2026, Eck was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail and charged with five counts of aggravated indecent liberties with a child under 14. His bond was set at $200,000.

On March 23, 2026, Griffin Cornejo, 50, threatened Wu by calling ComCare. He stated, “Someone better tell the Mayor I’m coming for her.”
On September 4, 2026, Wu turned 42. On October 6, 2026, Cornejo pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal threat.
