Bint Jbeil, Lebanon native Mohammad Ibrahim Bazzi pleads guilty to sanctions evasion
Mohammad Ibrahim Bazzi, a 60-year-old Lebanese-Belgian national, was designated a global terrorist by the U.S. Treasury in 2018 for providing financial support to Hizballah. He was indicted in 2023 for money laundering and conspiracy. Recently arrested in Romania, he pleaded guilty and faces sentencing while his co-conspirator remains at large.
