Pilar Carmelita Anastasia Arlando, born in Portugal, is of Indian-Chinese and Portuguese-Dutch descent. Raised in Singapore, she gained fluency in multiple languages. Arlando was the second runner-up in Miss Singapore World 2009, later succeeding after the original winner's resignation. She represented Singapore at Miss World 2009 but did not place.

Faraliza Tan crowns Miss Singapore World 2009 Ris Low at Shangri-La Hotel
Faraliza Tan, a media and communication student at Nanyang Technological University, was crowned Miss Singapore World 2008 at age 22. She represented Singapore at Miss World 2008 but did not place. In 2009, she crowned Ris Low as her successor for Miss Singapore World, who later competed in Miss World 2009.
