Following nearly four years on the run, he was apprehended on January 28, 2025, in Virginia and returned to Tarrant County for sentencing.

US Marshals arrest Miramar, Florida murder suspect De Sean Phang in Colorado Springs
De Sean Phang, 28, was arrested for second-degree murder involving the death of 15-year-old Joel Vilsaint in Miramar, Florida. He and co-accused Juliean Sellmon were implicated after Vilsaint was found injured on March 22, 2023. Phang, who fled to Colorado, was apprehended on February 4, 2025, and is awaiting extradition.
