¡OPA! has held Costa Rica's Miss Universe franchise since 2024, with Gabriela Alfaro as the national director. The inaugural Miss Universe Costa Rica 2024 ceremony will take place on September 10, 2024, featuring 13 competitors. Costa Rica has had six placements in Miss Universe history, competing since 1954, except for 1952, 1953, and 1961.
