NKU accused of discriminating against Covington, Kentucky’s Douglas Algie

Douglas J. Algie, a former NKU employee, claimed he faced gender and disability discrimination from 1999 to 2007. He alleged that two female colleagues received promotions denied to him. After filing an EEOC charge in 2005, his case was dismissed in 2007 for not meeting the timeline for discrimination claims.

Washington’s Shanan Lynn Read found floating in the Puget Sound in Kitsap County

Shanan Lynn Read, a 33-year-old from Washington, struggled with substance abuse and had four children. In January 2006, her decomposed body was discovered in a tote container near Blake Island. Investigators believe she may have died in Seattle and were examining possible leads involving four men connected to her last whereabouts.
