Costa Rica’s Roger Roger convicted by federal jury in North Carolina
Roger Roger, a 40-year-old U.S. citizen from Costa Rica, led a fraudulent telemarketing scheme between January 2014 and November 2017. Targeting mainly elderly victims, he and his conspirators claimed they had won prizes in exchange for upfront payments, stealing over $4 million. A jury convicted him on multiple fraud charges in September 2024.

Anchorage, Alaska’s Panos Anastasiou charged with 22 crimes, released on bond
Panos Anastasiou, a 76-year-old Vietnam War veteran from Anchorage, Alaska, was arrested for sending over 465 threatening messages to the U.S. Supreme Court. After escalating to violent rhetoric, he was indicted on multiple charges, including threats against federal judges. Anastasiou pleaded not guilty and was released on bond.

San Francisco, California’s Tyler Ross ordered to pay $200K
Tyler Ross, a licensed attorney and former real estate executive, pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit an offense against the U.S. between 2015 and 2019. He falsified financial documents for underperforming properties to secure refinancing. Ross was sentenced to one year and one day in prison, plus a $200,000 fine.
