Brandey Lynn Bruin Schurr, born in 1992 in Michigan, is married to former athlete Chris Schurr, a police officer charged with murder in 2022 following a shooting incident. They wed in Kenya in 2014. Brandey's family includes her siblings and she has faced personal losses, including her grandfather's death and her stepbrother's battle with cancer.
