Daniel Joseph Harris, a former U.S. Marine, was accused of participating in a plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer during the COVID-19 pandemic. He had no prior criminal history and was linked to the Wolverine Watchmen militia. He was acquitted of kidnapping charges in 2022 after extensive pre-trial activities.
