Alexandra Braun from Venezuela was crowned Miss Earth 2005 in the Philippines, marking the first win for her country. In 2006, she returned to crown Hil Yesenia Hernández Escobar from Chile as Miss Earth, the first winner from Chile. The 2006 pageant featured 82 candidates and various special awards.
