William Nathan Hale, born in Tennessee in 1885, had two wives and ten children. His first wife, Lillie, died young in 1921, while his second wife, Mary, bore him four children. Hale lived to 90, passing away in 1975. His great-grandson, Audrey Hale, was involved in a tragic shooting in 2023.
