Fifty-three contestants are competing for the Miss Universe Canada 2022 title. Canada currently holds two Miss Universe crowns, while it has not yet won a Miss International title.
Alyssa Boston crowns Miss Universe Canada 2020 Nova Stevens in Toronto, Ontario
Alyssa Boston of Tecumseh, Ontario, won Miss Universe Canada 2019 on August 17, competing against 54 candidates. She represented Canada at Miss Universe 2019 but was unplaced. On October 24, 2020, she crowned her successor, Nova Stevens, who would compete in Miss Universe 2020.

Mariana Valente, at 23, was crowned Miss Universe Canada 2009 on May 16. She represented Canada at Miss Universe 2009 but did not place among the top competitors. Valente later crowned her successor, Elena Semikina, in June 2010. Canada has 16 placements in Miss Universe history.
