Matauaina Gwendolyn To’omalatai from American Samoa won the Miss Pacific Islands 2017 title on December 9, 2017. She later crowned her successor, Leoshina Mercy Kariha from Papua New Guinea, on November 30, 2018. The event featured six candidates and was held at Atele Indoor Stadium, Nuku'alofa, Tonga.
