Canada has achieved 16 Miss Universe placements since its first participation in 1952, with notable winners Karen Baldwin and Natalie Glebova. The Miss Universe Canada pageant began in 2003, with the 2010 edition featuring 62 competitors. Mariana Valente was crowned in 2009 and will crown her successor in June 2010.
