Mia le Roux, a South African model and the first deaf Miss South Africa, was born in Sasolburg and raised in Oudtshoorn. Working while pursuing her marketing degree, Mia received a cochlear implant at age nine and advocates for the differently abled. She faced health issues that prevented her from participating in Miss Universe 2024.
