Puerto Princesa, an independent city in the Mimaropa region of the Philippines, was founded in 1872 and became a city in 1970. In the May 2022 elections, Lucilo Cecil Bayron was elected mayor, Nancy Socrates as vice mayor, and 10 councilors were chosen. Additionally, Rocheanne Bonggat represented the city in Miss Philippines Earth 2021.
