Chengxuan Han, a Chinese PhD student at Huazhong University, was arrested in Romulus, Michigan, after sending concealed biological materials to a University of Michigan lab. She arrived on a J1 visa and made false statements during customs inspections. Charged with smuggling and false statements, her case has been publicized by U.S. authorities.
